The Attention Economy- A Mindfulness Rebellion

Florian Ruths returns to speak for us at the MWC!

Florian is a consultant psychiatrist in adult mental health at the Maudsley hospital in London.

Florian has been leading the Maudsley Mindfulness Service at the Maudsley Hospital in London for the last 10 years, teaching mindfulness to colleagues and treating patients with mindfulness-based interventions.

He became a qualified cognitive therapist and was BABCP accredited. Since 2003, he has developed the mindfulness-based cognitive therapy program at the Maudsley Hospital and has been a full-time consultant at the hospital since 2005.

Dan Nixon is a writer and consultant with expertise in the broad theme of “attention and society”. His work centres around how our capacities of attention and awareness matter in a range of social, economic and philosophical debates. Dan has recently written about human-digital relations, ‘mindful’ economics, attention vis-à-vis ego, and sustainability issues. Dan previously worked for over ten years at the Bank of England and has a strong academic background in philosophy, economics and mindfulness.

Together, Florian and Dan will speak about the economic, societal and emotional impact of our ‘Attention Economy’ – and what we can do to rebel.

This 1.5 hr long networking session will be facilitated by Andrew McNeill (MI Workplace Policy Lead) and will be in the format of panel debate and breakout rooms.

This webinar is open to Mindful Workplace Community Members only.
