Relational Mindfulness: experiential introduction for mindfulness teachers: Emma Donaldson-Feilder

Relational Mindfulness: A workshop presented by Emma Donaldson-Feilder.

As mindfulness teachers, our way of being with our clients and groups will influence outcomes perhaps as much as the words we use. Our mindfulness practice is a vital support in being aware and discerning about what we embody. Relational Mindfulness takes this a step further by bringing mindful awareness and discernment right into the moment of interaction with others. The formal practice of Relational Mindfulness – based on Insight Dialogue – supports us to engage in mindful dialogue: the aim is to help us establish greater presence, awareness, empathy and compassion in our relationships, thereby helping create insight and new perspectives.

The aim of this session is to enable participants to experience Relational Mindfulness practice and how it can help us:

– Bring present moment, non-judgemental awareness to speaking and listening in our work and beyond
-Build moment by moment awareness of our own and others’ relational habits and patterns
-Develop supportive, collaborative relationships, with greater understanding of and kindness towards each other
-Establish more resilient ways of being in relationship and more flexible ways of dealing with challenging relational moments
-Bring greater wisdom, insight, and different perspectives to our interactions with other people.

While the session will include a brief grounding in relevant frameworks and models, it will mainly be designed to generate experiential learning and will include guided individual mindfulness and Relational Mindfulness practices.

At this session, we hope that you will learn ways to:

-Be more present and aware whilst speaking and listening
-Deepen your awareness of and choice over what you embody
-Create greater psychological safety in sessions, enhance your capacity to listen, and increase your comfort with silence.

This workshop will be free to MWC members and available to MWC followers/guests and friends at a cost of £30.00.
