Mindfulness, Compassion and Radical Candor: The Art of Effective Feedback.

The MWC is delighted to host Amy Sandler,  lead coach and podcast host at Radical Candor LLC, in a dialogue with Robert Chender, long-time mindfulness practitioner, teacher, and Coach to lawyers and executives.  They will be discussing:

“Mindfulness, Compassion and Radical Candor: The Art of Effective Feedback.”

In many workplaces, feedback can either be too harsh or not given at all, which can lead to misunderstandings, unresolved issues, and a lack of personal and professional growth. Radical Candor addresses this by encouraging people to care about the people they work with while being willing to challenge them directly, providing feedback in a way that is both kind and clear.

This approach fosters an environment of trust and psychological safety, encouraging conversations that improve relationships, promote collaboration and deliver better results.

In this event, Amy will:

● Introduce Radical Candor: the process developed by Kim Scott in her best-selling book — caring personally while challenging directly

● Discuss challenges we face in putting Radical Candor in action, and explore how mindfulness and compassion can support our practice of Radical Candor.

● Provide practical, actionable tips on asking for and receiving Radically Candid feedback — kind and clear, specific and sincere.

● Explain how Radical Candor can help you do the best work of your lives and build the best relationships of your career.

Radical Candor is the process developed by Kim Scott and discussed in her best-selling book, of caring personally while challenging directly, in a way that is both kind and clear, specific and sincere. The antidote to toxic company cultures, is a simple concept that’s not always easy to practice. Radical Candor is the sweet spot between managers who are obnoxiously aggressive on one side and ruinously empathetic on the other.  It’s about providing guidance, which involves a mix of praise as well as criticism, delivered to produce better results and help employees achieve. It shows managers how to be successful while retaining their humanity, finding meaning in their job, and creating an environment where people both love their work and their colleagues.
