Leveraging Mindfulness to Foster Inclusivity in the Workplace

Learn how organisations can leverage mindfulness practices to foster a more inclusive environment for marginalised communities and employees.

Sarah Sung and Tawny Cortes, both BAMBA’s Equality, Diversity and Inclusion team members, explore how organisations can leverage mindfulness practices to create a more inclusive environment for marginalised communities and employees.

Sarah and Tawny will highlight common occurrences in workplaces and provide you with:

✔️ Increased Self-Awareness: participants will gain a deeper understanding of their own biases and how they might unconsciously contribute to a non-inclusive environment.

✔️ Actionable toolkits: the event can equip participants with practical mindfulness exercises and tools that they can implement in their daily work lives.

✔️ Improved Communication Skills: the event can introduce mindfulness techniques for active listening and fostering empathy.

Sarah Sung is a dedicated Human Resource professional, certified yoga instructor and mindfulness facilitator. She began the journey as a corporate human resource professional in Technology and cybersecurity sectors across APAC and Europe.

She personally experienced and witnessed how imbalanced and toxic workplaces take a toll on close friends, colleagues and countless individuals. Sarah is committed to incorporating her professional and wellness specialist experience to assist organisations in building sustainable happier, inclusive workplaces with programs focused on employees’ well-being and HR consultancy services.

Tawny Cortes has worked in the health and wellbeing sector for over a decade. Her diverse experience as a wellbeing coach, yoga teacher and mindfulness practitioner, in both commercial spaces and corporate environments, has given her unique insight into the importance of mental and physical wellbeing.

As a yoga and mindfulness practitioner, Tawny has worked with many businesses to deliver bespoke classes, wellbeing workshops and retreat days to improve workplace wellbeing and resilience. Furthermore, as someone from the BIPOC community, Tawny has worked with diverse groups within this community to uplift their voices and champion diversity and inclusivity within the wellness space.
